Time ~ where does it go?
It has been forever since I posted and will probably be some time before I do again. I am now working with my partner in his real estate company full time, going to school full time and have been planning my Daughter's wedding and just hosted her Bridal shower yesterday. I wanted to share the "princess shoes" I made as part of the table decorations.

Sentimental Handbags
These are a few more hand bags that my Sweet Friend Kelly and I worked on together.
This red one is made from a vintage, velvet dress that belonged to a friends Mother. It was hand beaded at the top with a picot trim and then hand beaded fringe added on both sides of the bottom. Then lined with a beautiful black fabric. The next one was felted with a hand beaded spiral rope strap and beaded loop closure with one of my vintage mother or pearl buttons. Kelly lined it with vintage fabric from another dress. Kelly's friend is giving these bags as gifts to her daughter, sister and nieces. What a great way to share the love and memory of a family member through a piece of clothing remade into soemthing that can be held and enjoyed, rather that hanging in the back of a closet. Our hope is that these bags become another family heirloom.
If You want to see more of them you have to pop over and visit her blog here Fitzu she is an amazingly creative lady and great friend.

The Angel's Day
This is my Angel's birthday. She would have been 33 today. These photos were taken in August of 2001, when she was 25, by our friend Stewart who is a professional photographer.I am so thankful to have them.
This is one of Stews favorites, it was a long day and they were getting a bit silly, something happened and she burst out laughing and he took this picture, it stuck with him that it was such a genuine, joyful laugh - that we miss.
We lost Amy in October of that same year, the pain has eased but the feeling of loss is still great.
Happy Birthday Sweet Angel, we love you.

A good day
It hit 54 here today! Sat in the sun with a glass of wine - was a bit of heaven! We have had a ton of snow in Maine this winter with bouts of extreme cold so today was a huge treat. Back in the art room for a bit, reorganizing, cleaning out and jotting down 100 projects I want to take on, not to mention the list for the wedding.....
Here are more pics from the button collection.

Something Beautiful
Tuesday, February 24, 2009
Here is another Felt and beaded bag my sweet friend Kelly and I made. She made the deep purple felted bag with funky eyelash fringe and I needle felted the flowers and added bead accents. We are very please with it! I am really getting into the needle felting, these were only my second attempts at flowers - not bad huh? Sort of reminds me of working with modeling clay.

Room out of control and the winner is.......
OK, I am late! My daughter would tell you it is the story of my life! But better late than never? The winner of the bracelet is GinaAgain, please visit her at Ginaagain.blogspot.com
This was a wonderful event and I look forward to next year (hint, hint). I love all the new sites I had the opportunity to visit that I never would have known about if it were not for this event. Please continue to visit, I look forward to hearing from all of you.
Cheers!
The art room is out of control! Too much going on - at once. I will get organized again.......
Did you hear something? I really need to clean this room!
Fix me, fix me!
Much Better now! Too bad an entire strand of crystals were lost from this vintage beauty. But the good thing is the rest survived. The owner, a friend, at least will have the balance of her Aunt's treasure.

Felting and Beads!
Hi, I wanted to post a little something my girlfriend and I have been up to, she is the felter and I am the beader. Sweet little bag that we are making for a friend. The lining you see next to the bag is made from a vintage dress that belonge to our friend's Mother. The bag is done in felted crochet, the strap is spiral rope beading and the closure is a vintage button from my collection. Pretty cute!
Hope you have a great Wednesday. I am off tomorrow for Massachusetts to stay with my Daughter, we are going wedding dress shopping, sweet girl is getting married in July!
